Guaraná is an Amazonian fruit and is widely used for various purposes and even medicinally to combat fatigue and tiredness. To tell its origins, there is a legend that says that there was an indigenous couple who had not had children and so they asked the God Tupã for their wishes to come true and this was granted. A beautiful and healthy young man was born, Cauê, who was loved by everyone and also by Tupã who gave him the gift of talking to plants and animals. Thus, that child grew up and lived well, but the God of darkness, Jurupari, felt very envious and then, one day, while Cauê was harvesting fruits in the forest, Juruparia transformed into a poisonous serpent and killed him instantly. The sad news spread and Tupã, upon learning what had happened, in the place where the boy was buried, grew a beautiful plant with a fruit that would resemble Cauê's eyes.
